Proxy Service Setup Guides

Choose a plan, set up your device, and fix connection problems with step-by-step guides.

Understand Proxy Services

What is an SSRocket proxy service? You are buying an ongoing proxy service, not a particular client app.

An SSRocket proxy service connects your device to websites and apps through SSRocket proxy routes. After buying a plan, you receive a subscription link in My Account. Import it into a compatible client to load available servers and connect. SSRocket provides and maintains the routes, updates servers, and helps when connections fail.

Plan, subscription, and client

  • Plan: the service term, data, and device allowance you bought.
  • Subscription link: your private link for importing available servers.
  • Client: the connection app on your phone or computer, such as Shadowrocket or a Clash-based app.

The client is only a tool. Changing it does not add plan time or data, and buying a client does not buy SSRocket service.

How does traffic move after I connect? The client sends selected connections to your chosen server, which then connects to the website or app.

After you connect, the client uses its current mode to decide which requests use the proxy. Those requests go to the selected server and then to the destination. Responses return along the same path.

Common signs

  • Base internet failure: no server connects.
  • Busy or failing server: another server works.
  • Client rule issue: the browser works but one app does not.
  • Destination restriction: the connection works but the site rejects the account or region.

Connected only means the proxy is on. Trying another server, local network, and website usually shows which part is failing.

What is the difference between Global Proxy and China Proxy? One connects to overseas services; the other connects to mainland Chinese services while you are abroad.

Global and China Proxy solve different directions; they are not simply fast and slow versions. Choose the destination first, then compare term, data, and price.

Why can a site or app still fail after I connect? The service may also check account country, payment country, cookies, app-store region, or sign-in history.

A proxy can change the network exit region, but many sites and apps check more than network location. They may also use account country, payment method, cookies, device location, app-store country, and unusual sign-in history.

Try this

  1. Choose a server in a region the service supports.
  2. Sign out of the destination account and sign in again.
  3. For websites, clear that site cookies.
  4. Check service status and account-country requirements.
  5. Record the exact error and contact support.

SSRocket provides the proxy connection but cannot change third-party account eligibility, subscription status, or security review.

Choose a Service

How do I choose the right proxy plan? List the three sites or apps you use most, then choose by direction and reliability needs.
  1. Only overseas services: choose Global Proxy Service.
  2. Important calls, remote work, or higher reliability needs: compare Global Proxy Service Pro.
  3. Mainly mainland Chinese services while abroad: choose China Proxy Service.
  4. Both global and mainland directions: compare Global Proxy Service Pro.

Before paying, compare term, data, the three-device limit, and price. If unsure, tell support your country and the sites or apps you use most.

Setup

What are an account, plan, subscription, client, and server? The account holds orders, the plan defines service, the subscription loads servers into a client, and a server is the route you select.
  • Account: used for My Account, orders, and support.
  • Plan: defines direction, term, data, and devices.
  • Subscription link: imports your server list.
  • Client: the connection app on your device.
  • Server: a selectable route in the client.

Correct order

  1. Buy a plan.
  2. Copy the subscription link from My Account.
  3. Install the client from the device guide.
  4. Import, choose a server, and connect.

Keep the subscription link private.

How should I use Rule, Global, and Direct modes? Use Rule mode daily, briefly try Global when one app fails, and use Direct to test the base internet connection.
  • Rule: only selected connections use the proxy; best for daily use.
  • Global: most connections use the proxy; useful when one app may be missed by rules.
  • Direct: bypasses the proxy to test Wi-Fi or mobile data.

Test a failing app

  1. Retry in Rule mode.
  2. Temporarily switch to Global with the same server.
  3. If Global works, update the client and subscription.
  4. Return to the recommended Rule mode after testing.

Speed & Troubleshooting

What is the fastest troubleshooting order? Check the base internet first, then refresh the subscription, switch servers, restart the client, and test another network.
  1. Disconnect: confirm a normal website loads.
  2. Check the account: correct sign-in and active plan.
  3. Refresh the subscription: confirm the server list updates.
  4. Switch servers: test at least two regions.
  5. Restart the client: close other proxy or VPN apps.
  6. Change networks: compare Wi-Fi and mobile data.
  7. Change destinations: see whether every site fails or only one.

If you need support, send city and ISP, OS, client name, server region, time, and exact error. Never send passwords, codes, or the full subscription link.

Why is a low-latency server still slow? Latency measures response time; streaming and downloads also depend on bandwidth, loss, congestion, and local Wi-Fi.

The latency number only shows how quickly a server responds. Slow video, pages, or calls can also come from server load, local Wi-Fi, ISP routes, background downloads, or the destination itself.

Compare servers properly

  1. Pause downloads, cloud sync, and updates.
  2. Use the same device and local network.
  3. Test two or three different regions.
  4. Compare with the site or app you actually need, not only a speed-test number.

If mobile data works but Wi-Fi is slow, check the local network. If only one server is slow, switch servers.

Safe Use

How do I use SSRocket safely? Protect the account, email, and subscription link, and use official setup sources.
  • Use different passwords for SSRocket and your email.
  • Copy the subscription only from My Account; never post it publicly.
  • Install clients only from sources in the setup guide.
  • Keep the device and client updated.
  • Hide card numbers, codes, and full subscription links when contacting support.

A proxy cannot stop phishing, malicious downloads, or account scams. Check sources before opening links, installing software, or entering passwords. See the Privacy Policy for the information SSRocket processes and retains.
